To be the best at what you do, it requires practice, because practices makes perfect. A famous American writer E. L. Doctorow once said "Writing is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go". I agree with Doctorow because writing can be anything you choose it to be. There are many types of writing; many individuals may not be superlative writer in one topic, but they may be the finest writers in their favorite topic.
For many years even the greatest writers had trouble writing. Take Perl and Lamott for example; both authors are great writes; however they took different paths in their writing processes to become the great writers they are now. Lamott believes writing multiple drafts makes a paper better. In Perl's essay Tony is an unorganized, unskillful writer. I can relate to both stories because my paper is filled with spelling and grammatical errors. It takes multiple drafts to make sure the paper sounds correct.

This may sound awkward, but this was one of the first times I had ever written a research paper. I was given a very detailed instruction sheet, which explained what the paper should have included. Picking a topic was hard for me because I had no interest in writing about anything. As much as I tried searching on the internet for a topic, none had grabbed my attention. Friends started suggesting some ideas; the majority of the suggestion was to write about plastic surgery. Now, I have no interest in people getting surgery, but I decided to challenge myself by researching people's motives for wanting to get reconstructive surgery. Once I figured out the topic I wanted to write about, Reconstructive Surgery, I started looking up all of the information that I wanted to include in the paper. I understand that a research paper should not include personal opinions; it should instead have more research evidence about the topic. As I am writing the paper and putting information together, I thought I was doing well. My first draft was pretty good, the professor wrote many comments that
