Pregnancy and whole lot of Everything
Personally I do think that parents should give their give their kids condoms and pregnancy pills. Even though this might give the kids the idea that the parents are saying yes to having sex, the parents can still be firm in their decision of kids not having sex but telling them that if they do have sex atleast the kids will be doing it the right way. I understand that some people will have sex anyways but their parents should really sit down and talk to them about it and then it is their decision whether or not they are willing to do it anyways. Not having sex is not only because of the fear of pregnancy, but also sexually transmitted diseases. Birth control pills cannot protect people from them and condoms only cover a part of the body but what about flesh to flesh diseases? I saw this person say that you put diapers on your toddlers because they have accidents and so do teenagers, about sex so birth controls are their kind of diapers, but I feel that giving your child birth control pills makes them feel like it is okay to have sex. I think that instead of giving them birth control pills, parents should really sit down and talk to them about all the harmful diseases transmitted through sexual activities and it isn't only about pregnancy. Parents need to do there homework on diseases that you can catch when you have sex. So when the parents talk to the students about STDs they will have hard evidence.
HIV, Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes, (HPV), hepatitis B are the most common STDs transmitted between sexually active persons in the United States. Adolescents and young adults are the age groups at the greatest risk for acquiring STD. Approximately 19 million new infections occur each year, almost half of them among the ages of 15 to 24. One STD that many people are worried about getting is HIV. While new ways of treating this infection can significantly prolong an infected person's life, for far too many people this infection eventually progresses to AIDS and, ulitmately, death. More than 40 million people worldwide are infected with the HIV virus; women account for 50% of those infected. Recently, studies have shown that US, African Americans account for a large number of HIV cases. Many people may not realize they are infected, as the HIV virus is often treatable for the first few years. HIV testing is the only sure way to know if you are infected. Girls and women 15-19 years old had the largest number of reported cases of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea in 2009 of any age group. Females are at greater risk of acquiring infection, and the consequences include pelvic inflammatory disease, pregnancy complications, and infertility.
