Council For Exceptional Children
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is an organization which was organized in 1922 by a group of educators at Columbia University. There intentions were to see to it that children with exceptionalities are valued members of society. As you look at their website (www.cec.sped.org) you can see information that will benefit special education teachers, administrators, and parents who deal with exceptional children.
The first thing you see when you go to the page is headline news that gives information to those that may not be regular visitors to the page. It is the first thing that jumps out to the reader that give them information such as when seminars will be held and any other breaking news that may be of importance.
The website is user friendly, as it has different colored hot spots so the user can easily gain access to the topic they use. Some of the colorful hot spots include their policies and standards that they adhere to. There is a hot spot that gives information about regional workshops, and CEC events.
Anyone that is looking for a degree in special education can find guidelines that is needed to prepare for the field of special education. Basically the website is a one stop career information center with resources, and links on financial aids, and educational grants given by different foundations.
