Communication Style under Stress

How people communicates under stress varies tremendously, some people confront the situation with violence while other simply avoid or withdraw from that. Many times communication styles are seen different because of voice and diction while some are seen different because of body movement and gestures. After completing the assignment number one and getting feedback of my answers it says that my styles are Withdrawing and Controlling. I found half contradictory from what I use to "react" or "handle" under stressful situations.

Besides attending college I work as a team leader in the lettershop(production floor) for a direct mail company for more than 10 years and we (me and coworkers) encounter everyday situations that can be consider from stressful through panic, in order to complete our daily production goals and to satisfy client mail dates.

Communication needs to be effective at all points in the production process and we must be comfortable with the different channels of communication. When I communicate well, I can be very successful. On the other hand, poor communication struggles to finish goals. As I said before over the past ten years I had learned to communicate in a way that I can express my point of views and be heard effectively, most of the time I had never withdraw from a discussion, and neither left the room from an undesired situation.

I try to work in an environment where everybody can express an opinion or point of view about how we can improve and to develop new strategies to avoid conflicts in order to reach our goals.
