Under the City of Bellevue registration, XXX. have been registered has having business activity with-in the city. This was either established with selling of goods with-in the city or by the performance of duties by employees within the city. There are several components to the City of Bellevue Multi-Purpose Tax return. Let us first focus on the taxable amount of retail services.
On line 2, Column 2, enter all retail sales for the company during the quarter. For the second quarter this would be 606,602.91.
On line 2, Column 3, enter the deductions from this income. Per the City of Bellevue revenue code, any retail sales outside the city limits would be deducted. For example, if all of the retail sales reported on the Combined Excise Monthly Tax return for the sate occurred in the City of Bellevue, this number would be $487,684.68.
On line 2, Column 4, the taxable receipts would be the difference of column 2 and column 3, $114,918.23.
For Column 6, you would multiply that amount times the tax rate, resulting in $171.92
We then need to look at Apportioned Service & Other income. We complete this calculation on Schedule A.
On Sch A, Line 1 we enter the entire company service receipts. Per the Monthly Combines Excise Tax Return this equals $36,965.35 for the second quarter.
On Line 2, we would subtract out and deductions from this amount. According to the City of Bellevue, any amounts charged to a client for professional services that represent the actual cost of wages and other compensation paid to a covered employee under a professional employer agreement can be excluded from this amount. For the second quarter, I have assumed this amount to be 0.00.
Line 3 would be the difference of these two numbers, $36,965.35.
On line 4, the total Bellevue payroll costs are entered. If an employee, resides in the city, performs more than 50% of the duties in the city, or is assigned in the city; those amounts would be summed here. For the 2nd QTR, I have used the total paid to Jessica of $9625.01.
On line 5, companywide totals would be entered here. For the 2nd QTR this was 39,032.81.
On line 6 we divide line 4 by line 5 to get the factor of 0.247. If there was no Bellevue payroll data, this would have been zero.
On line 7 we enter the total Bellevue service receipts. This is only for the activity performed in the city. For the 2nd QTR, I have assumed that this is the sum total amount of $36,965.35 reported on the Monthly Combined Excise Tax.
On line 8, enter the total company numbers of service receipts. Per the Monthly Excise Returns, this would also be $36,965.35 for the 2nd QTR.
The rest of the lines are simple calculations
