Change Is Inevitable and Constant
This analysis covers the basic concept of change starting with the definition. I will attempt to show the positive side and the benefits of change. Change is inevitable and constant that cannot be avoided and will be a matter of time before a person eventually adapts to it. After basing my analysis on this statement various advantages of adapting to change will be pointed out.
What is change? Change is the difference between the current state and the desired state. It could require an individual to acquire a new habit, attitude, and qualification or learn about new technology to make himself more compatible with the current state of his environment.
Why change? According to an old saying, the only thing that remains constant is change. Our world is changing at a fast pace and in order to keep up with the changing environment one has to embrace change, a change for the better. It is obvious from a person's daily life that a constant change in the workplace, and in the family, occurs rapidly demanding a person to perform better each day. It is natural human behavior that when people find something beautiful, they would in turn find something else unattractive. Likewise, through finding a person fit for duty, later judge someone else unfit.
When computers became a new technology no one thought it would become so important that people would be able to use it as a source of income. Now it has become a useful part of our day-to-day life. Not only are the technological advances affecting our business, but they also affect our home. Families now have as many computers as they have TVs.
Homework is now typed and printed and online websites are used as references. We depend on computers to keep in touch with our relatives, friends, and with current world events. Teenagers running around with their own cell phones and pagers are a significant change from generations a decade ago.
Although most of these changes have been somewhat rapid, they were still gradual and weren't forced upon the public. An excellent example is DVD players, which have been out for years. Blockbuster still carries more video rentals than DVDs, yet the DVD shelf space is continually growing, but gradually.
Changes are easier to accept when they aren't forced upon us and we choose to initiate them in our lives. It is the spontaneous and instant changes that make us defensive, giving us very little time to adjust and consider the new alternatives. (Boston University FSAO, 2002).
Change is inevitable and requires a conscious effort on the part of a person who wants to bring some change in his or her life. Whether it is kicking a smoking habit or obtaining a degree, it will definitely require effort and commitment.
