Case Study Analysis
Carl Robins, a new campus recruiter for ABC, Inc. is trying to hire new people for this company. Even though this is a first recruitment effort for him causes he only been at this new job for six months. He is trying to get this new campus up and running in a certain amount of time.
Background
Carl is trying to get his 15 hired trainees in the process of working for Monica Carrolls, the Operations Supervisor. He has setup a date for the new hire orientation which will take place on June 15 and hoping that they will be working by July. On May 15, Carl was contacted by Monica about the training schedules, orientation, manuals, policy booklets, physicals, drug tests, and a host of other issues. Carl would be in charge of this coordinating for the new hires. Monica was assured by Carl that everything would be arranged on time.
Carl was trying to put together a new team to work ABC, Inc. He was also trying to get the new hires to work by July. He wanted all of the tests and physicals to be done before then in order for them to start work on time.
Key Problems
Carl was faced with many problems after Memorial Day. As Carl sat at his desk and pulled out the new trainee file to finalize the paperwork that was needed for the orientation on June 15. Carl became concerned with some of new trainees did not finish their applications or did not have their transcripts on file. He also seemed that none of them had been sent to the clinic for the mandatory drug screen. As, he was searching for the orientation manuals he only found three copies that had several pages missing from each of them. When he came back from his walk, he decided to go and check out the training room for the orientation. But when he got there and looked at the scheduling log he noticed that Joe had reserved the room for the entire month of June.
Proposed Solutions
Carl had a lot of problems to deal with in such a short amount of time. Somewhere down the line Carl didn't make good communication with the other people at the campus. Due to Carl bad communication skills he has brought a lot of problems that he will have to figure out what to do about them. To overcome this problem Carl should ask Joe if he could schedule for his meetings in the afternoon that way he can have his orientation in the morning. Carl should contact Monica about the problems that he is facing. He should also contact the new hires who have not finished their application and give them a mandatory date for it to be finished. He should have never let these types of things occurred.
Recommendations
For future references Carl should have meetings with Joe about any problems on the scheduling of computer room. He should make sure that he doesn't come across a problem like this
