Topic - Torturous Interrogation Methods for Prisoners Of War

Specific Purpose - To persuade the audience that the use of torturous interrogation methods on prisoners of war is an effective way to gather intelligence.

Central Idea - Methods of interrogation used by armed forces today are effective against the war on terrorism and play a crucial part in the gathering of intelligence.

Introduction

The term Interrogation is often associated with the cruel reality of uncensored brutality and immoral practice towards others. However, brutal as it may vividly appear, when it comes to protecting those you love from certain harm it becomes a natural instinct. The most docile animal will kill to protect their young from danger in the jungle and in contrast to our civilization which is no more than a jungle of technology and architecture the same rules apply. Acts of terrorism have cost the lives of many innocent people in our country and any action necessary to avoid future reoccurrences becomes a top priority. The term "information is ammunition" is a key element, therefore the fact that prisoners of war should be subjected to torturous method for extraction of vital information to prevent pending acts of terrorism should be supported by society.

Conclusion

In conclusion, methods of interrogation used by armed forces today are effective against the war on terrorism and play a crucial part in the gathering of intelligence and information to tactically and decisively thwart pending terrorist plans. It also assists in the saving of many lives of our soldiers by keeping them from as much harm and the millions American lives who work hard daily to make our country a better place. The events of September 11th, 2001 benchmarked the beginning of change and heightened the awareness of the people all around the world and the fact that preserving the lives of our future generation is top priority.
