Managers Managers are usually creative but they want details. Most of the time they are responsible for solving problems. They are formal and straight to the point and they want results. Depending on the situation channels of communications with manager are different. If it is an update on a situation, e-mail would be good. If there is a misunderstanding, oral communication should be used to correct the situation. Writing could be used in the recording the situation. Always be sure to cover all topics correctly. Be specific and include important details. Be clear and precise. Be sure that everyone understands what you are presenting. First get the audiences' attention. In conflict try to address and emphasize on positive side. Go over the facts again if the people already know details. Express the main point. Always make sure though that all points are covered in case someone does not have all the details. Stay on the most important details and avoid being vague and uncertain. Mention the negative consequences that may happen. Be honest and sincere. End on a positive note and summarize the key points.

Salespeople Sales people are usually extraverts. They need to feel confident in what they are selling. They are less informed of day-to-day operations. Oral communication would be a good channel of communication with salespeople. Follow speech with e-mails and notes. Give the salespeople small details that they may not know about. Keep a positive attitude and give a good outlook for the future. Be specific.

Customers Customers need to be sold on a product. They want to know all the details of the product. Feelings may also judge whether to buy or not. A formal letter might be sent in regards to the meeting. Details can be given to them about monthly earnings and spending statements as well as printouts. For advertising purposes a phone call might be sufficient. When talking to the customer address their needs and accent their interests. If the customer does not understand explain to them the situation and help them see the point.
