Writing essentials
The purpose of Writing Essentials is to suggest the effective writing process. I think writing is very important because it explains and conveys your thoughts to others. Basically, the writing process starts with prewriting. Many people usually pay less attention and skip this excellent step. This step is to explore all of the ideas and the main purpose of the massage. The next step is writing. This step is to organize the content from the first step and give more specific information. It should be concise and clearly. Moreover, it is not necessary to use difficult or big vocabulary because it seems not natural. We can organize writing by using paragraphs, bullet points, heading and subheading. Another technique is to avoid using passive voice. This is because using active voice in easy to understand.
The last step is revising. The professor suggests that we should take a short break before proofreading. I think it is an excellent technique because it helps our mind clear from working on writing. As a result, we can work and proofread better. In this step, we should check the spelling and writing style. I agree with the professor that we should proofread from the hard copy. It is easier to read from hard copy than to read from the monitor. We should clarify or be more specific if we found anything unclear. In addition, margins and misused words have to be checked as well. Overall, I think this video has great advice for improving writing skill.
