Within world history, there have been countless evens that have changed and shaped the present and future. Of those events, one of the most significant ones is World War II, due to Adolf Hitler. Before and a little during the years of World War II, Hitler rose to power within his home country, encouraging him to expand to other parts of Europe, despite the Treaty of Versailles and the wishes of the League of Nations. As a result of fear, the other European nations waited for the worst before forcing Hitler to stop his invasive actions. Therefore, Hitler's invasions, the League of Nations, and their appeasement were the main reasons why the world plunged into war in 1939.

During the 1930's, Germany was desperate for improvements in their economy as a result to the negative effects that the country faced from World War I. It was the time of the Great Depression too so a lot of people were out of jobs also. The Germans were ready to have someone who could take them out of their economic problem. This is where Hitler came to "save the day" as he blamed the Jews for their misfortunes and promised to do whatever he could to bring wealth back to Germany. Part of his plan to revive Germany was to take territories back for the nation "not by flaming protests, but by a mighty sword", as Hitler said in his book 'Mein Kampf'. He would say that he would expand into other countries, not by compromise or protest, but by force or invasions. He proved that he was a man of his words when Hitler sent German troops to Rhineland, a buffer zone between France and Germany, in 1936.
