Background

Wiik & Hoeglund Public Company Limited, a piping company from Finland, manufactures and distributes high density polyethylene pipes and related fittings to public and private sectors primarily in Thailand.  The company offers HDPE Solid Wall Pipe that is suitable for distribution of drinking water; drainage system, pipeline, water distribution, and drainage in communities or industrial estates for more than 20 years. Since the level of competition in the HDPE pipe market is getting higher, the senior management of the company has decided to launch a new and unique product called “WehoTank” to make more profit for the company.

WehoTank has been widely used for years in Europe but never been used in Thailand. The tank can be used as a Water Storage Tank for underground and above ground water, gas, chemical storage, and bio gas filtered applications. In order to sell WehoTank, the company needs to have a reference to demonstrate how it works. Therefore, the senior management has approved the budget of $12,000 and assigned the demonstration project to my team to find a customer who is willing to try WehoTank and allows the company to use it as a reference for prospect customers in the future.


Goals

  • Find a customer who wants to participate in WehoTank demonstration project.
  • Demonstrate the installation, record the video and take some pictures for the marketing purposes.
  • Get a project reference that can be used as a tool for sales teams in the future.

Scope

  • Approach the prospect customers to offer the price and ask for a permission to use this site as a project reference.
  • After receiving a purchase order from the customer, contact the factory to schedule the production and delivery time. Then contact the construction company for the site installation.
  • Find a third party to record and make a presentation video, including brochures and catalogs.

Scope Exclusion

  • Installation and marketing material jobs will be done by third party companies.
  • Maintenance will be done by technicians from the factory.
  • Following up with the third party about marketing materials will be done by the marketing team.

  • Installation and Testing should be completed in 7 days after delivery.

Budget overview

  • The company decided to provide an installation cost in order to convince the customer to participate in this project. The estimate installation cost is around $10,000.
  • The other cost would be the cost of marketing material which is about $2,000.
