Twyla Tharp once said, "Art is the only way to run away without leaving home." Art has been my biggest passion ever since I can remember, because similar to Tharp, art was my escape from reality. I turned to drawing and art when I felt emotionally inspired to express my feelings. Drawing is and will always continue to be my therapy, and most of all, my happiness. Art is freedom, self-expression, and pure beauty. There are so many unique and outstanding styles in the world, which is not only mind blowing, but it continues to absolutely amaze me. All of the many ways that art can be created gives people like me, the chance to express themselves, give outsiders a look inside the artist's mindset, and most importantly the chance to show the world what that artist has to offer. I want the opportunity to give the world a glimpse of my personal style, and most importantly I want to begin a career in the art industry. People always tell me to, "Choose a career doing something that you love, or you'll regret it for the rest of your life," and that is exactly what I plan to do. Going to college for art is the gateway to my future career and the beginning of the rest of my life. Comic books, superheroes, and cartoons have always caught my eye and have truly sparked my biggest interest. Cartoonists have such outstanding imaginations, and allow so many people to explore into new worlds of entertainment, and fictional characters lives. I'm hoping more than anything, that going to college for art will give me the opportunity to fulfill my dreams of becoming a cartoonist and letting people around the world connect to the characters I create and the style of my art.
