WHO AM I?

There are lots of things in this world we can be. Take a pen, be a writer. Shoot a short film, be a director. Drive a vehicle, be a driver. Cure the sick, be a doctor. There are different kinds of people.

Knowing your true identity is a long process. Some may take a lifetime for them to figure out who they really are. Some are fortunate enough that through their experiences, they were able to know who they really are as a person. We spend most of our time in finding who we really are. I believe that the people around us play a major part in the process of knowing especially those who we get to interact every day. Different relationships are formed in our every day life.

I would not know who I am without God. The Creator who made each of us in His image and likeness. Without God, there will be no teachers, farmers, fishermen, doctors, writers, director and other professions. Our life is the greatest gift we have received from God. He is the reason why we get to experience genuine happiness, joy and love even the downsides too. We should be thankful that because of Him, we get to learn different life lessons. These experiences help us to grow stronger day by day. Each day we grow bigger and slowly, we find ourselves. I am a strong believer that God helps us to find our own identity and lead us to the right path. We will be able to find our true selves by following His word and will. Unfortunately, not all of us appreciate the greatest gift we received. There are people who commit suicide or end their lives. In my own opinion, we should be grateful on what God has given us because we are too blessed yet some do not even show appreciation.

In my opinion, it is not only God who will make an effort for us to find our identity. We must do our role too and establish healthy relationships with other people. As life goes on, attachments to people are made. We must also remember to be grateful to what God has given us and maintain those to show gratitude to His blessings. I am currently finding myself and I know that I might get lost somewhere along the way but I know that with my faith, I am going to succeed in the end of the road. I am taking it as a challenge to find myself. We all are in the process of knowing thyself and developing our skills as an individual. It is our role to maintain and nurture it. Knowing yourself is important so we can help ourselves to be a better and well-rounded person.

While writing this essay, I have realized that I am still on my journey in finding my identity as a person and as Christ’s follower. Who Am I is the question we try to answer and discover. As of now, i am finding who I really am. I know for myself that God is guiding me to the right path as long as I follow God’s will through the process.
