Asking whether a person is an honorable or not is very easy, however answering that is very hard. There is not one definite answer for this question. Being an honorable person takes a lot more that it seems. First of all, I think, person should have self-respect. He should not cheat; he should be reliable, kind, understandable, and so on. As I mentioned above, there is not one exact definition of what honorable man means. One of the good examples of honorable man is Marcus Brutus (known as Brutus☺) - who is one of the most important characters in Julius Caesar. He is a good friend of Julius Caesar and loves him very much, but his love to Rome is stronger, and this is why he wants to kill Caesar. You may wonder how can a person kill his friend and still be called an honorable person. Brutus was an honorable man for the thing he did for Rome. There are many people who will betray their friends, family, for the good of their country. This makes him honorable to his country but not to his friends or family. That kind of person was Brutus. He honored himself by doing what he believed in, whether it makes him look good or not. Brutus joined a plan of killing Caesar, because of the wish to help Roman people. "Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more". Brutus had honored Caesar but Brutus thought that Caesar was too ambitious. Brutus also felt that Caesar made the Romans as slaves.

Every citizen in Rome considers Brutus as an honorable man. He is close friend of Caesar, husband of Portia, and also he is a Senator. Brutus is convinced killing Caesar by Cassius who was jealous of his power. Brutus was tied up into the plan by letters, which were brought by Decius to make him think that the people of Rome wanted him on the place of Caesar. Brutus felt that Caesar has too much power and he will use that for his own good, and destroy Rome. We all know that Brutus did not kill Caesar because of something personal; he did that to benefit Rome.
