“What Starts Here Changes The World”. The University of Texas, home to

McCombs School of Business, educates and empowers tomorrow’s global leaders

and I aspire to be one of them. The Texas MBA program is tailor made to my

learning goals. I will choose to concentrate in the unique Strategy and Innovation

discipline in conjunction with the Entrepreneurship discipline. I will benefit

significantly from the flexible curriculum options, technology-focused programs,

experiential learning opportunities, and the growing Austin startup ecosystem.

As I seek to go from engineering tech products to inventing them, I will tailor my

studies around courses such as the Technology Strategy and New Venture Creation.

Having spent my entire career at Oracle, I am looking forward to widening my

perspective and gaining an understanding of the technology industry as a whole.

Strategy gurus, like Luis Martins would not only expose my classmates and me to

the art and science of strategy, but also teach us how business leaders drive

organizations the Longhorn way.

McCombs’ abundant resources for students who want to work in the technology field

impressed me. I would benefit from the opportunity to learn from industry experts

through the various events hosted by Graduate Business Technology Group

(GBTG). The case challenge competitions, tech treks and speaker series provide an

excellent space for me to network with my target recruiters. I will seek a leadership

role with GBTG by educating my classmates about cloud computing and utilizing my

background to plan and execute events.

The idea of working overnight on the Tech/Ops case challenge is very exciting to

me. I will learn how to work under pressure with my classmates from diverse

backgrounds. Through the MBA+ leadership program, I will benefit by working with a

communication coach to improve my leadership communication and presentation

skills. The MBA+ Project is an excellent experiential learning platform where I will
