What Nursing Means to Me
Nursing is one of the most rewarding professions in the whole world. It is a job that requires more than helping the sick get better, they are highly esteemed and people look up unto you for answers. My childhood dream was to become a nurse. As a child I pictured myself taking care of everyone in my family. I came from a family of seven. I am the youngest. When any of my family members would get sick or injured, I would be the one taking care of them, and did everything in my power to help them recover.
While growing up, I myself became sick a go to the hospital a few times. It was there, at the hospital, where I saw firsthand what a nurse's job was all about. The nurses that looked after me were caring, and compassionate. They always had smiles on their faces and seem to really enjoy what they were doing as nurses. The nurses were always there when I needed them, and their love and affection was contagious.
I watched these nurses go above and beyond their call of duty. It was then, when I decided to become a nurse. It seemed like it would be a rewarding career for me. Now, as a nurse, I enjoy what I do. And wouldn't trade my career for any in the world.
There are some down sides to nursing and it can be challenging as well as frustrating sometimes. But, all that goes away, when I'm taking care of the sick and injured. This is something I always wanted to do. Every day I go to work, I feel that I brighten up their day and put smiles on their faces. The nursing profession has given me what I wanted most. That is, to make a difference in the life of many people.

Ethics has no become part of the nursing curriculum. This indicates how important ethics has become to the nursing profession. The second three provisions address the perimeters of nursing obligations duties as well as loyalties. The last three provisions examine the duties of a nurse and the obligations required for caring for and individual.
Every day ethics are being incorporated in my practice as a nurse. I take up the role of patient advocate on a daily basis. This helps to ensure that the needs of those, in my care are met physically, emotional and spiritually. I educate my patients on ways of living a healthy lifestyle. Ways to prevent diseases and make better life choices. I use compassion, respect and remain non-judgmental as much as possible. Ethics play an important role
