What is a hurricane? How does it form? So many questions are racing through your mind when you hear "hurricane".
A hurricane usually starts of as a tropical storm, which has a wind of 74m/h, and ends up being a hurricane, speed ranges from 75-200m/h, if the temperature of the water permits. It twirls up to 200 feet up in the air. Hurricanes last about over a week and travel about 10-20m/h. The temperature has to be above 79 degrees F. in order for a hurricane to take place. They start off as moist warm water starts to evaporate near the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. Hurricanes gather up heat and energy through the moist hot water. Evaporation from the water increases their energy. The center of a hurricane, which is called "the eye", is usually the calmest part of the hurricane. To determine if it's a hurricane or a tropical storm you have to find some physics behind it. You have to determine how high it is, what the velocity is, and what the temperature of the water is.
It all depends on how strong it is.What is a hurricane? How does it form? So many questions are racing through your mind when you hear "hurricane".
