The Gout
There are many questions about this infection from those who do not know about the gout. What is gout? Is it contagious? Who does the gout affect? Recently, the gout has increased over the centuries, due to changes of diets, lifestyles and medication. The gout is a common type of arthritis that is also called "Hyperuricemia" ("Getting Rid of Gout"). Gout can last up to thirty years, but has different treatments. The gout occurs in approximately eight-hundred forty one out of every one hundred thousand people. Many people do not know how this infection can affect them.
Many people do not know what the gout is. The gout is a kind of arthritis that occurs when uric acid builds up in the joints. There are two different types of this form of arthritis: primary and secondary. Primary gout has unknown causes but there are a combination of reasons that result in this type of gout such as genetics, hormonal factors and diets ("GOUT"). Secondary gout is caused by medications and an increase in blood levels of uric acid. One symptom that comes along with these forms of gout is severe pain in the joint, which feels like a crushing sensation or dislocation in the joint. There will be red and tense skin over the area that is affected and will peel of over the course of about ten days. People who have the gout could experience the chills, mild fever, loss of appetite, and feeling sickly. If the infection goes untreated, there is a high possibility that the gout will attack or even return. These attacks can last approximately five to seven hours, or even several weeks if it is severe.
The gout is not contagious but it's caused by the lifestyle of the victims. The consumption of alcohol, sugar sweetened drinks, meat, and seafood are all main factors that can cause the infection. Some medical conditions that can cause gout are abdominal obesity, hypertension, and abdominal lipid levels. These conditions are mainly due to uric acid. Uric acid is the substance from purines, which is in many foods that we eat. Uric acid dissolves in the blood and is filtered by the kidneys into your urine. However, when the acid is not dissolved in your blood or filtered by the kidneys, uric acid crystals form and go into the joints and cause inflammation. When this happens you have a good percentage of getting the gout.
