What cause Montresor and Misfit to kill?
Why Montresor and Misfit chose to commit same crime? Murder is to kill a human being unlawfully. Montresor and the Misfit are considered cold blooded murders; both criminals have different motivation when they decided to commit in the crime. That is why they are considered differently in the way they committed the crime. However, their action is intolerable. A grudge financial and health issues are one of the motivations for their crimes.
The motivation of crime between Montresor and Misfit is about a grudge. A grudge is bad feeling someone hold onto at a specific person for something he did that angered him in the past. The gurgle is one of the motivations for their crimes. They are people who don't know when their colleagues are joking during the conversation. This may cause problem such as conflict between them and be transformed into revenge in the future where they may chose to against their friends for something wrong they did on the past. This was the case of Montresor who was motivated by the grudge; he got from his victim's insult in the past. For instance, there are people who may say that they bullied us when we were in high school this was the reason why we killed them. Montresor claims that the insult was so horrible that the only good reason and payback to these words is death. Is it right to kill someone over an insult, and what words would be so awful to take your friend's life? If it was the case the world would not have the people because people have insulted each other since. Montresor declared that his motivation for revenge was about abuse he got from the victim. This should not be any excuse, because revenge has never been a solution. Montresor knew his victim, the insult forced Montresor to commit the horrible murder because of his powerful desire for revenge, so his motivation was payback in bad way. However, Misfit does not know his victims. He had never seen the family. However, he decided to kill them just to protect himself that was the most logical reason for the Misfit's actions. For instance, some criminals like to say that I didn't plan to kill them; I killed them because they recognized me which was one of the Misfit's motivations. Montresor planed his revenge, but Misfit didn't. Killing is full time job for Misfit.
The secondly comparison between Montresor and Misfit is about stealing as motivation of the crime. In the play Misfit says that "I found out the crime don't matter. You can do one thing or you can do another, kill a man or take a tire off his car, because sooner or later you're going to forget what it was you done and just be punished for it." Misfit ordered to kill his victims to be killed his friends comeback with the victim's clothes. Their reactions show that they killed victims and stole their clothes. It seems that Misfit would kill family
