We Shall All Truly Live
Is there such a thing as a perfect society? I guess it is preference really, but I can't say I honestly know of a place where everyone is equal and live truly happy. The most important thing of all to create such a wonderful society would be to give everyone equal rights. Rights are what can define somebody as free, and rights are an idealism of freedom. In my opinion, I would say that every single person on earth is equal from the day they are born. It doesn't matter what race they are, or where you come from. What does matter is that we are all human living on the same planet, so shouldn't we all be treated equally? Rights to the people would be among the top priorities. A quote from John Locke "the end of law is not to abolished or restrained, but to preserve and enlarge freedom. For in all the states of created beings, capable of laws, where there is no law there is no freedom."
Along with rights, people should be allowed to practice whatever religion they see fit. Religion is part of many people's lives, so no matter what religion they practice, they should feel safe in doing so. The only way a religious practice would not be allowed is if it involved hating on other religions, or anything of the sort. I agree with John Lockes' philosophy when he said that "nobody should live in fear". If they are living in fear then I can guarantee that they are not happy. So to ensure the happiness of everyone, I do believe that John Lockes' philosophy should be followed.
A crucial step in making a great society would be to ensure that the economy is very stable. The economy, in any place, must be in good working order in able to support all the people who live within it. People rely on the economy, and the economy relies on them. With a strong economy, it will enable spending to increase the living habits for the needy. Actions to feed and give shelter to the homeless would be set in place, also it would be able to aid the upkeep of structures already built. Having a good economy will benefit everyone, and will make make happiness a more widespread occurrence throughout the nation.
Voting is very important piece to add to society. With voting, everyone will be able to feel like their opinion matters. There will be no such thing as electoral votes, and simple, majority will rule. Just like John Mills philosophy, do what is best for the greater good. This will allow the people to feel more like one nation, instead of two separate groups. Democrat and Republicans would be a thing of the past. The government will be run by the people, for the people. A special group of people will be elected for making decisions in a time of crisis. If the country were to ever be under attack, a chosen 50 men and women would decide on how to handle the situation.
War would be completely different than the way it is today. Instead of sending
