Wal-Mart destroys communities at home and abroad. Wal-Mart's motto in which they live by is "Save money. Live better". Wal-Mart is sending a message to consumers that they can come to Wal-Mart, and find everything they want for a cheap price. But have people ever thought about how Wal-Mart affects society? Wal-Mart destroys communities, and treats theirs employees unfairly. They do not care about people in third world countries, who help make their products. Wal-Mart destroys communities at home, and abroad.

Wal-Mart is a world wide company. The way Wal-Mart treats their employees is very shocking. They are underpaid and are discriminated against. Because they are being underpaid, people are not able to support their families. Furthermore with the little money they earn, they have to choose between paying for medical insurance and feeding their family. Also for the time that workers are spending away from their family, they do not receive over time. Wal-Mart is chauvinistic and racist towards their employees. Specifically in Wal-Mart's world if you are seen as a Woman, a Black person, a Hispanic person, etc. you are not seen as equal. In other words people are not obtaining higher jobs in the company just because of a person's sex, or ethnicity. These examples relate to my topic because it explains how Wal-Mart discriminates against their employees, as well as underpays them. Wal-Mart destroys communities at home, and abroad.

Wal-Mart has everything a person would need or want. However, in many communities small businesses have suffered. Wal-Mart is supplied with items that are so low, that people do not want to pay extra money for better quality. Customers do not want to have to go to several different places to find what they are looking for. Wal-Mart has killed life in the communities and even more so the connection. Forty year old businesses have gone under because of Wal-Mart. Businesses lose the connection they have with their community and eventually shut down because they can not compete or become bankrupt. In addition with Wal-Mart being a huge franchise, it has brought crime and trouble to neighborhoods. These examples relate to my topic because it explains how Wal-Mart has shattered communities. Wal-Mart has destroyed communities at home, and abroad.

Wal-Mart has employees all over the world. People slave everyday for Wal-Mart, and do they have a choice? No. People work fourteen hour days, seven days a week, for seventeen cents in India. Wal-Mart takes advantage of their employees especially in third world countries. They have little to no money, no benefits, no job security, and above all they work long hours. Many of these jobs are not unionized, therefore employees do not have someone to stand up for their rights, and in other words they have no voice. These examples relate to my topic because basically employees have given up their lives for that company. Wal-Mart
