I. Introduction
a. BBC News recently reported on a man who "...played a video game for fifty hours straight, with few breaks, and then collapsed and died due to heart failure and exhaustion."
b. Video games have a great influence on people who spend a huge amount of time playing them; especially they have negative effects on adolescents because life without such games is unimaginable for young generation.
Thesis statement: Due to the increasing number of video game addicted people, the psychologists and video game addicted themselves should take urgent measures to stop it.
II. Background
a. Video game addiction is becoming a fast growing problem across the world and it is recognized as a mental disorder in some countries.
b. Idleness, escaping from reality and disobedience to parents are the main causes of compulsive video gaming. Youngsters who are mostly dependent on video games lose self-control and have disturbances in mood and behavior and their addiction affects their personal, familial and academic area.
c. Recent research shows that more and more video game players spend much time gaming so that their personal lives suffer.
III. Solution 1
Topic sentence: One of the possible solutions to the problem is that video game addicted people need to find other developmentally appropriate activities or support groups.
Advantages:
1) developing skills;
2) making new friends
Disadvantages:
1) lack of support groups;
2) lack of motivation
Feasibility of the solution: It is very difficult to encourage addicted people to participate in different activities.
IV. Solution 2
Topic sentence: Another way to solve the problem is that addicted people should be provided with necessary help of psychologists and counselors.
Advantages:
