Subject: MY GOALS
Someone can start to think about retirement before going to school to learn about it by going to the bank and talking to the manager about opening a 401k account. But, this account can only be opened if you have a job that has benefits. Or, on the other hand, you could just save up money at your house, but that wouldn't be safe what so ever. The age that I think that I would like to retire at would probably be around 60-65 years old. I chose this age, because it is the ideal age, it gives me enough time for a little bit of R and R (rest and relaxation) but it also gives me enough time to save up money before that age, assuming that I have a good paying job. I think that I will live a good retirement, considering that I will have a good retirement account, I will plan on going on many vacations with my wife, if I have one, and just enjoying what time we have together. I will probably have enough money to live off of for a few years, and once that runs out, I could start using social security and just live off of that.
The way that I am thinking of paying for college is going into the military afterwards, so that the government will help me pay it off, and if they don't help, I'll already be an officer in the army/marines, which is a higher rank, and therefore gets paid more than the under ranks. I am hoping to go to school at a relatively nice college, I'm trying as hard as I can in school to keep me grades good so I can get in to a good college, but when I do go to college, I plan on getting a masters in architecture. Once I start working, I will either be in the military, or an architect, and the second option, most-likely has a better pay. When I'm older and supporting myself, I would like to help contribute to my kids going to school, I don't think that they should have to pay for it themselves.
To help afford all of these things, I will have a job. But now that I'm thinking of all of these factors to having a good lifestyle, I will probably not go into the military. I think it would be a better choice to become a architect. For example, the pay would be better, and depending on which company would hire me, they might help or pay for all of my college loans and funds and what not. Having a good lifestyle for my kids and I would be the biggest achievement in my life, all I would want to do is make them happy, but not spoiled. So in conclusion, the goal of my life would be to end up having a good lifestyle, and since I won't be allowed in the military, then...I will gladly take a job as an architect, but first I would have to go to school for a number of years. And that would for sure take a lot of money, and time
