Values Paper
1. What is the basis for which you determine right and wrong?
Everything started with education what I got from the house where I grow up. When I was younger and I went to church, they showed me what is wrong and right, because God might punish me for what I did wrong and reward you for doing the right thing. I was reading the bible, where it was talking about how others should be treated. In bible there were present rules such us in Exodus 23:2-3 "You shall not follow the masses in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after a multitude in order to pervert justice; nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his dispute.” I also am determining my right and wrong with thinking about if I would want my kids to act towards me and other people. My mom raised me by herself, so I am trying my best to please her, and make her as happy as I can, so this is another big part of how I determine my rights and wrongs.
2. What mortal principles if any are nonnegotiable?
One of the biggest principles what I have is not using or selling drugs. For my using drugs, prevents people from a good future, also drugs will get you in trouble with the law. At the same time using drugs is setting a worse example for my future kids. I include selling drugs, because poisoning someone else, it’s like committing evil, what is again all my believes and against bible.
On the other hand another principle what is not negotiable is it is the right thing to do to treat people as I want to be treated. Because I think everyone deserves to be treated well, with respect. I will try to treat everyone as I want to be treated, because it feels like the right thing to do, and it is also fair. If I am rude with someone I am more that deserve to be treated the same way. So I will not negotiate with someone about it, like this person is different so you have to treat him different way, I still will treat him or her, the way I want her to treat me back, because you never know who you will end up with, and who will be your friend or your enemy.
I grow up in a family, where we follow God, so for me following God is another principle what is nonnegotiable. You might never see him but, he is there, there is someone who wakes us up every day, puts us through the challenges, and planning our lives for us, He will always be there for me and for people around me. That’s why don’t matter what people will say or try to prove me, I know that the following God is a right thing to do.
3. Name three values that are most important to you and explain why?
