In the United States, hot dogs, hamburgers, French fries, and ice cream have long been considered national favorites. The cultural pattern that was happening in the USA will explain how and why those foods are the national's favorites. If we think of these particular foods we can see that none of them were actually originated in the USA .For example, french-fries is originally from Belgium, hot dogs and hamburgers were the creation of Germans, and surprisingly Arabs were the first to indulge themselves with ice cream. So if we ask our selves How did these foods became the favorite for Americans even though these dishes were not from their heritage? I think the answer for the question is clear if we looked at the roots and backgrounds of the American people who live in USA today. The united state of America is the land of freedom and opportunity; everyone wants to live the American dream that's why it is considered to be the 'melting pot' for so many different nationalities, ethnicities and cultures. Immigrants started coming to this land during 17th and 18th centuries. When they travel, they carried more than their clothes with them. They bring things that allow them to survive in the New World, weapons for defense, tools to clear land, turn the soil and build shelter, seed grains, vegetable and fruit plantings, spices, medicinal potions, they even brought life animals like chickens and horses. There was a flow of people, goods and all sorts of new things to USA. The growth of global culture happening at that time introduced Americans to what became their favorite food as to so many other things.
On the other hand, an American might ask why are these food our favorite? Well, This can best be credited to the fast pace culture that emerged in highly developed society such as United States. These foods are easy to cook and prepare, do not cost a lot of money, delicious and easy to eat or carry compared to pasta 's and rice, which are popular in other countries. In addition to that, you can find these foods anywhere you go like your friends house, restaurants, grocery stores, even in street carts. National holidays like 4th of July, Memorial Day, sports games, and the national fairs had a huge impact on why these foods are Americans favorites. For example, most of these kinds of food like pizza, hot dogs, ice cream, and nachos are usually eaten during these national holidays. These foods turn out to be a part of the people culture; here cultural habit is formed. When people eat a specific kind of food on specific days of the year for decades, you can say that this became part of their culture.
