Dear Editor,
The PPP government has once again made it abundantly clear, very pellucid, that they are insensitive, uncaring, hence don't give a dam about the people they SERVE. This year's budget is self-explanatory and tantamount to this regard.
The elderly, the old people of this beloved country have made their contribution and have given service to the land. This is how you repay them, six hundred dollars? Is their service of lesser value than the service of our country's most colourful and mind boggling president, that he be given 3000000 dollars a MONTH? Wow!
The government's don't care attitude is also evident in there blatant and unwavering stance to allow the 16% vat to remain as it is. Since its inception it has been and continues to be a burden to the Guyanese people. This administration's portrayal of concern is insulting, with their proposal of raising the threshold to a ridiculously small and paltry sum of $50000 dollars. Undoubtedly they are fully aware that this inadequate sum cannot cushion the hike in cost of living that is on the increase daily.

The government's intent to raise the cost of electricity for Lindeners will only make life more difficult for an already struggling township. Is this the prosperity for all the minister of finance speaks of? Or is this the government's vengeful reward, due to the outcome of the election?
I am persuaded that the leaders of this country are delusion, out-of-sync and misguided by their questionable wealth, that they cannot truly comprehend the realities of the people.
The time has come for the people of this land to rid of their nonchalant attitude and rise from their dormant slumber and demand from these elected SERVANTS better, fair and just service. We have to harness the consciousness, that WE the PEOPLE have the power to beckon these selfish, inconsiderate and vision blinded
