Ehat are the results of a physical journey
You know most of us have been on a physical journey which leads to a change, whether it may be small or big. These days we all begin to realize as we grow that Journey denotes our existence on this earth, and that the physical aspects enhance these changes. Journey represents what we are, who we are and what we do with our lives. A physical journey can be filled with joy, love, pain, anger and forgiveness, and all these emotions can change in a good way, along with our perspective on things throughout our trips in life. There are many texts which portray these changes including "The adventures of Huckleberry Finn" By Mark Twain, the cover of "Ivory Trail" by Victor Kelleher and "Journey to the Interior" by Margaret Atwood.
The adventures of huckleberry finn by Mark Twain is a very credible text, which illustrates a tale of a young boy whos remarkable quests leads to his many changes, as he faces and hampers the many blockades of life. Huck begins his epic journey as a young boy who knew nothing more than to mock religion and break every rule. Throughout his story he travels through the Mississippi river to free a runaway slave. In this book Huck says "the average man don't like trouble or danger" , this quote indicates that he likes to face the troubles and dangers in life, which in the end leads to his changes.
this also shows how people may be fearful to go on physical journeys and experience change. As he continues through the journey he meets the 'The king & Duke', these two men take them along enlightening Huck and Jim on the matters of deception and thieving. Because of this Huck begins to realize his problems and this finally leads to his moral changes where he begins to feel sorry for people. "....I studied a minute, sort of holding my breath, and then says to myself: 'All right, then, I'll go to hell'--and tore it up" (206-7), this quote shows even though Huck still has childish views on reglion, his understanding grows as he sympathizes for Jim. "Please take it," says I, "and don't ask me nothing - then I won't have to tell no lies." This is another quote which shows how even though he lies all throughout this book, he still feels bad lying. Now I know none of you can deny that there was change through the physical journey, and if you do, my points prove that as a result of physical journey Huckleberry Finn changes.
"The Ivory Trail" is a visual text and a compound representation of the concept of journeys. Visuals are covered and merged with colour and natural elements of sky, sea and sand.
