Truth – A discovery or a creation
Summary
The mystery about truth is an age old conundrum and different philosophers have projected in several different ways. A lot of different speculations can be floated around about the aspect of truth. But truth to be fundamentally is an object of discovery. The truth can never be created. It can be realized or discovered
Argument
Without a second thought, I can say with conviction that Truth can be only discovered but can never be created. The central concept of truth can be defined as quality or state of being true. Also truth is something that can’t be changed. It remains the same even in past, present and future. Whereas if it had been something that is created, it can be damaged, manipulated or re-created. However it is true sometimes truth can be camouflaged or mis-represented. But that is an act of deception which doesn’t essentially change the quality of truth.
Evidence of Truth #1:
Scientists and philosophers in the past had postulated several theories about the shape of earth as being flat. Several theories were built around it. But the absolute truth that earth is spherical in shape didn’t change. It was a matter of time that the truth was discovered and presented to the whole world and was duly accepted. It doesn’t not indicate that the scientists back then were trying to mis-represent but essentially they were creating a fact and trying to present it as a truth. Hence at the end, truth prevails.
Evidence of Truth #2:
Another big area of evolution was the nuclear theory. It started with dalton’s atomic theory followed by several other theories who were presenting the truths about true molecular structure. While they were not entirely wrong, but they could not present the absolute truth. In a loose terminology, it can be termed as an attempt to reach the absolute truth. And interestingly the science is still approaching to more and finer aspects of atomic and sub-atomic nature of particles. So it can be realized that while one can try to present a “fact” as a truth but the truth will triumph eventually and emerge victorious in the spectrum of time.
