* Title: Treasure Island
* Type: Folklore
* Major Characters: Jim Hawkins, Captain Smollett, Long John Silver, and
Squire Trelawney.
A book that is highly recommended is Treasure Island, by Mark Twain. For me this was an interesting book. I never wanted to put down the book. All in one day I read twenty-five chapters! This book was written perfectly. Again, The Author reeled me into this book. The virtues of our hero, Jim are Quickness, listening, and courage.
Quickness is shown by Jim. When Jim was in danger in any way he did not hesitate. When he was in trouble he acted fast. He didn't just stand there crying and doing nothing. Like when he was being shot at, he took cover and he took it fast. It was good that he was always quick and alert. I greatly admire Jim's quickness in the story.
Jim definitely shows great listening. Also when Jim was in a barrel he heard that some of the sailors were pirates. Also that the pirates were going to start a mutiny against Squire and the captain. The band of pirates was lead by Long John Silver. This act of listening saved the Captain and the Squire when they were told about it. This was a great quality to have. Listening is well demonstrated throughout the story.
Courage is shown by Jim a lot in the story. When he was given guns to shoot somebody he actually did it. He would also stand up to grown up men and fight them. Most of the things he did in this book were courageous. I liked this virtue about him than any other. He showed this quality well. Courage is mostly shown throughout the story.
Out of the proof given Jim can be kind and protective. He is quick and good willed too. He is one of the most daring characters that I have read about. He is a great almost anything he does. He is inspiring and interesting. I recommend this book to anyone.The virtues displayed by Jim is quickness, listening, and courage.
