Extensive background in the maintenance and repair of the following aircraft: F, F-18, F-15, F-111, A-7, A-10, KC-135, T-37 and H-60. Specialized experience as draftsman, surveying technician, construction estimator, physical science technician and mathematics technician will enhance my effectiveness as a Mechanical Engineering Technician.
Expertise in the operation of Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machines; as well as setting up and operating a wide range of machines and machine tools, such as vertical and horizontal mills, milling machines, gear cutters, balance machines, honing machines, robotics machines, etc.). Possess an excellent knowledge of shop mathematics, operations and procedures; enabling me to determine reference points, radius and more in order to attach the item to the work surface, and to perform other related functions.
Competently read and interpret instructions and all trade related references (e.g. blueprints, schematics, plans, drawings and sketches). Utilize work orders, blueprints, sketches, part models or other specifications on raw stock to effectively plan and layout work.
Acquired extensive knowledge of setting up a wide range of machines and attachments; adjusting speeds, feeds and cutting depths, and determining what cooling method to use.
Proficiently use a variety of precision measuring equipment (PME) such as vernier calipers, inside/outside micrometers, surface gauges, squares, dial indicators and comparators to check for flat surfaces, straight shafts and concentric hole or surfaces before commencing work. Also make use of PME during the work process and upon completion to check dimensions and tolerances.
Comprehensive use of written communication to write, edit and update reports, technical directives and other documentation. Accurately complete paperwork to request stock, part, fixtures and cutting tools or to route items to other areas. Proficient in the use of data reference files, microfiche and other sources to research needed information.
Able to maintain successful and cooperative working relationships with co-workers, engineers, vendors and upper-administration, focusing on a common goal to perform all job requirements to the best of our abilities, to share information in a professional manner and resolve issues.
