Security in the work place, especialy armed, requires a special individual capable of handling any situation not police related. As a citizen & as a licensed citizen to carry a firearm to protect lives & property as being the most related two subjects involved in this profession, & having good common sense as well as a level head when it comes to carrying out the daily duties & upholding company policies are expected by management to be done so in a timely manner as well as being as much a gentleman to the public as possiable. One such person should be capable of multiple duties including those experienced in adult & children behavior, since the two sometimes are entertwined, thus causing the need to call security. The best way to find such a person to protect & to serve is to hire an individule with at least a six month probation period with limitations set by the Directer as his or her discrection. Age, at times, helps to hire the right person because of the maturity factor. It is good to note that not all company personnel fit the above qualifications to become armed security, but they may or maynot have the knowhow to carry out their employment without the possiable need for security to intervein. Then there is the controling factor needed for any one such person to fulfill their obligations as security, hence the need for a Captain. A qualified & seasoned person with experience that far exceeds that of a security guard of normal stance. In any case, before deciding if security is needed, check with the local police departments & find out how much a security guard may be needed in any one area, by getting the statictics on crime in that area.
