This movie is not just a simple beautiful show for children, it's probably for adults. It gives to adults hope that is better late, than never. For children there are also important things, but I'm not sure that they all can understand and reflect on it. This story about boy, dreamed to become a pilot, he had an idol and dreamed of adventures. But he could make his dreams come true only at the 78 years old with lucky young companion.
This story has beautiful and sad beginning where within 10 minutes main heroes- Carl and his wife Elli- live all life; from the childhood till an old age, from dream to daily occurrence. There are many different moments in this story, sad moments and happy moments... Carl made his and his wife's dream come true. That dream joined them. After his wife's death Carl has changed. He became callous. Meet with Russell changed Carl's life. Initially their relationship wasn't heart-warming. Carl didn't allow someone to him. He lived only with his past. He thought only about himself. Russell was in the Carl's flying house by accident. He has become much attached to Carl, because he wanted to have friends. Boy was faithful; he found that speaking dog and bird, he became their friend. At the end of the story Carl treated Russell kindly. He leaved his past and started to live with present. Carl and Russell overcame the difficulties together.
There are bright and different characters in this story, in which you can find a part of yourself. Some of my friends remind me, for example, that beautiful bird, called Kevin. Now I very miss my friends. Carl is an example for everyone, that age is not barrier. If you breathe -- that you are ready to a feat.
