There comes a time in everyone's life where they need to
make a decision. It can be a easy decision, something as small as choosing what
outfit to wear the following day, or even something as hard as buying a house. In
every choice you make there are consequences. One of the most influential
presidents of all time, The late great Theodore Roosevelt once said "In any
moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing
is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing." Decisions are
essential in everyday Life. In every decision there is what you call a decision
making process.
Decisions are a choice between two or more alternatives.
Decision making processes are used to arrive at a solution in the end. One of the
First steps in the decision making process is (1) Identifying the Purpose for the
decision; Buying a house, What are you deciding and why? Buying a house is an
extremely big decision that will affect you long term or short term. One of the
reasons for buying a house would be that comfortable feeling of owning such a
huge investment. The second step would be (2) Information gathering, what are
the advantages/disadvantages. Some would say the advantages of having your own
own home would be a great investment. Probably the most solid investment, other
important decisions would the location and who else would be affected by its
purchase, would me buying the house effect me financially. (3) Evaluation Of
Alternative; what other options do you have? In evaluating this decision, one very
important option would be that I could continue to rent while I'm continuing to rent
I could come up with a bigger down payment thus helping me in the long run.
When buying a house of that magnitude the Job plays an important factor, one that
may effect on a short term basis. Beings that one's spouse is in the army, If the
spouse came up on orders they would have to hire a realtor to sell the house. The
