TEAM BA 180.1

Introduction

The University of the Philippines is the premiere university in the country. Being a UP

student, therefore, is definitely not an easy task. After passing the UPCAT, a typical UP

student will have to pass an average of more than 150 units of subjects; the bulk of

which are major subjects that could really take it out of a student. The remainder units,

on the other hand, composed of General Education or GE subjects under the Revised

General Education Program or RGEP scheme, shouldn't be taken lightly as these could

be a means to pull a student's General Weighted Average or GWA up or down. It is,

UP student has to go from one college to another looking for GE classes with available

slots. They may no longer have the chance to go online and visit the LOOK UP website

to get more information about the GE subject and its professors.

The group surveyed 105 random UP students from various year levels and different

colleges such as the School of Economics, College of Business Administration, College

of Science, College of Arts and Letters, etc. (Appendix I) In the survey done by the

group, over 70% of the UP students own smartphones and tablets that can download

and use mobile applications which they can use anytime, anywhere.

Mobile applications

made mobile applications or mobile apps more relevant than ever. Gone are the days

when people could just do with the basic messaging apps installed in their phones.
