Jason thought his inheritance was going to be the gift of money and lots of it. Was he ever in for a big surprise. Based on the best-selling book "The Ultimate Gift" by Jim Stovall, the story sends trust fund baby Jason Stevens on an improbable journey of discovery, having to answer the ultimate question: "What is the relationship between wealth and happiness?" Jason had a very simple relationship with his impossibly wealthy Grandfather, Howard "Red" Stevens. He hated him. No heart-to-heart talks, no warm fuzzies, just cold hard cash. So of course he figured that when Red died, the whole "reading of the will" thing would be another simple cash transaction, that his Grandfather's money would allow him to continue living in the lifestyle to which he had become accustomed. But what Red left him was anything but simple. Red instead devised a plan for Jason to experience a crash course on life. Twelve tasks, which Red calls "gifts," each challenging Jason in an improbable way, the accumulation of which would change him forever.
After the death of the oil tycoon Howard 'Red' Stevens, his greedy family is gathered in the office of his lawyer, partner and friend Mr. Theophillis 'Ted' Hamilton and his associated Miss Hastings for the reading of the will. For his reckless and selfish grandson Jason Stevens, who hated him, Red assigns twelve apparently simple tasks called "gifts" - of work, money, friends, learning, problems, family, laughter, dreams, giving, gratitude, a day and love - challenging the playboy Jason to a journey of discoveries. When he meets the leukemic girl Emily and her mother Alexia, Jason changes his perspective of life and money, superseding the expectations of Red, improving and becoming a better man and receiving the ultimate gift from his wise grandfather.
The story is all about the last will and testament left by Red Stevens and who's best friend by Theodore Hamilton, After Red Stevens died he left some of his heir to his left love ones and relative and divided equally apart. And two week after Mr. Hamilton called the Family that belong on the last will and testament and he read it in front of the heiress. He gave to his eldest son Jack Stevens the first company established of Red Stevens which is the Panhandle Oil and Gas Company. And to her only Daughter Ruth, he gave the Family Home and ranch and to his youngest son and other relatives he gave the entire holding and stocks, bond and investment portfolio and lastly to his grandnephew the 24 year old Jayson Stevens he gave nothing but there a consequences to do just to be able to get the ultimate gift he desired to have. Red Stevens prepared a consequences that Jason Stevens need to accomplished After the reading of the will Jason Stevens found out that Red Stevens left nothing to him but just a box that has an videotape inside He blurted out, What going here? Everyone else walks with million dollars. After the video tape played and known the reason of Red Stevens to get his Ultimate Gift. He was so mad.. Red continued. "Now/" Don't forget, boy if you turn out to be more trouble than you're worth- which is not difficult for you- Mr. Hamilton will simply cut you off without another word and to you Theodore J. Hamilton, Red chuckled and continued. "I bet you didn't think I remembered your real name, Ted. I want to thank you for undertaking this little salvage operation on my behalf with Jason. And I also want to thank you for being the best friend that any man had. I accumulated a lot of things in my life, But I would trade them all in an instant for the privilege I have sitting here, right now, and being able to say that Theodore J. Hamilton was my his friend.. At the point the video ended and all set in silence, finally Jason turned to me and, in a belligerent tone, said," The old man was crazy." Ted offered his hand to Jason as he moved toward to door, he ignored it and said wait a minute. What's the deal here? Why don't you just tell me what's going on. And what I get?" And Ted said all in good time, young man." I said to him over my shoulder as I walk out of this room. I could hear Jason's angry voice as I retreated down the hall. And Jason said why couldn't he just leave me money like everybody else?" and hear the calm voice of miss hasting, " He love you to much to do that." While Mr. Ted waiting and doing some office works on others matters trying to keep my mind occupied and off to the fact that Jason Stevens would be arriving shortly. Finally the buzzer of my telephone sounded, and Miss Hastings informed him that young Jason has arrived and was waiting at the conference room and collected appropriate file and retrieved Stevens, Box from the vault. And when he entered the room he fount Jason slumped back at the chair with his feet on top of the table. And he said good morning Jason I'm glad you found a chair that you are comfortable. And played another videotape and Red seem remembering days gone by" Jason. When I was much younger on you.
