While most people think of the works of Dr. Seuss as funny and childish, I like to look deeper and read behind the lines. There are no good lessons at all to be taught from these books. For example, the cat and the hat teaches you its fine to go off on adventures with random talking animals. It fails to mention the real facts that cats and other animals can't talk. My next example is green eggs and ham; this teaches you it is perfectly fine to give into peer pressure so long as you are not in a somewhat normal environment. This could lead to many harmful effects on children including trying drugs or alcohol just because a friend tells them to. They could even try sex, which as soon as they try it they will be addicted. The stuff is better than chocolate. But that is a different topic for a different story. Children need to read more cultured books like where the red fern grows, that was a great book about the undying love between a boy and his dogs. It really teaches you what a friend should act like and not what green eggs and ham teaches, that friends want you to always do things you don't want to do. I also don't like the fact that it implies you must try everything once. Should I try cocaine once good sir? I think not. This is why no child should be allowed to read these satanic books, they will rot young people's mind out. Except red fish blue fish, that is a timeless classic.
