Love conquers all. This is a movie about how love allowed two people who were ripped apart to be reunited. It starts off with and older male who appears to be a stranger, is reading story to an elderly lady in the nursing home. The story was about to people Allie and Noah who had meet at a carnival and soon after fell in love. However, due to Allie's mothers' disapproval they were forced to separate. During their separation Allie attended school, and Noah fought in the war. Day after day Allie awaited the arrival of letters from Noah, those of which she never received and shortly after, she fell into the arms of another man. Now, as a newly engaged women Allie feels as if this guy is the one, when she so happens to run across Noah's picture in the local newspaper. Noah had rebuilt the old house where he an Allie spent time, just as he promised her: with a white porch all the way around. Touched by this article, Allie's sets out and heads back to the town where she and Noah meet. There she and Noah hit it off once again and fall deeply in love. Now Allie had to choose between her soon to be husband and long lost love. With much hesitation she chooses Noah and also finds out that he had actually been writing her, however, her mother held them from her. Finally at the end, it was revealed that the old man and women in the nursing was Allie and Noah. Noah had been trying to get Allie to remember by telling her the story of their love which seemed to be working, and sadly she regressed and forgot him all over again.
