The Many Scandals of Donald Trump: a Cheat Sheet- Reflection

America’s President Elect has been subjected to negative criticisms of sought. How he won, as many did not expect, has still not been understood by many. In this article, the scandals that mired his history and political ascend have been analyzed to detail. The article covers the tax allegations that were commonly cited by his critics, his use of the his charitable foundation in various malpractices that only brought benefits to him, the sexual assault allegations that threatened to stall his chance to presidency, and the various beauty pageant scandals in which he was involved (Graham, 2016). The most significant of these, in light of collective wisdom and community organizing, is his manipulation and use of the Trump Foundation to his benefits.

Notably, the Trump Foundation was founded with the objective of making donations from the different businesses owned by Trump, especially the Trump Art of the Deal. While this is an objective that defines a purely charitable course, the misuse of the foundation’s funds for personal benefits is an indication of significant ethical concerns. According to Minkler (2012), empowerment, self-determination, respect, and dignity must never come into conflict for the realization of successful coordination in collective wisdom. Thus, this issue, as has been presented in the article, is an ethical dilemma that affects the foundation’s commitment to meeting the ethical standards in charity. In the precepts definitive of collective wisdom in community organization, consensus-driven decision-making and coordination should be geared toward the development of the community, and not toward the benefit of privileged and disqualified persons. As a privileged individual, as a disqualified person, Trump should not have been made a beneficiary of the finances of the foundation.
