The duff

About being a duff.

Some people are not accepted and are therefore pray for the bullies. These people by referring to this movie would be called DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend). They do not even have to be fat, or ugly, if just they make their friends look better. You could also call them some kind intel, or gatekeeper to their friends, because often they know a lot about their friends.

In the movie, The Duff we are following a girl called Bianca who is called a duff. At the beginning, she did not even know there were a such thing called a duff, but was soon to learn. Her childhood friend Wesley, called her so. It was meant as a help, but she could not help from being mad at him. One of reasons why he did so, could be that he wanted to help her see what she was. Another reason could be to hurt her, but by following the storyline it was meant as a help.

She decides to make a deal with him, so that he could get her out of this “duff role”, but she had to make sure he passed science. He agrees to the deal, and they go out for shopping, and he starts filming her as she tries different outfits. She does not know why he does that, and it is probably because he is in love with her, or just want memories of them just as when they were younger. Another reason could be that he wanted her to feel worse with the duff title, but per the storyline it does not seem that way.  We do not actually get to know why as a viewer.

There was only one thing that made the trouble, and that was that Madison’s friend and camera woman Caitlyn, is also there filming her too. That is what makes all the trouble, because she posted it on YouTube. She does it because of Madison is feeling threated by Bianca who suddenly hangs out with Wesley, her ex. What she does not know is that it only was because Bianca wanted to get rid of the duff title, and get a chance with a guy called Toby Tucker, but in the end, she finds out that Toby is a jerk who was only using Bianca to get closer to Jess and Casey and her former best friends, and the one she was duff for. After all a reason why wanted to get rid of that role, could be that she did not know what she had. Her friend did in a way protect her from Madison and other bullies there could be. Another reason could be that she made an action that was too quick, but she ended up showing everybody that they were duffs them self, or knew someone who were it.

Cyber bullying is something that will never stop, like in this movie there will always be bullies, and there will always be duffs. You could also say the bullies are some kind of duffs too, because they make the people who are not bullying look better in some’s eyes, and because do have a lot of intel themselfs.
