The Cree Way: Our Culture and Values
Cree is We
If your conversation includes "they" and "I," you don't get it.
WE succeed or fail together.
All employees are valued and critical to our success
We don't have assigned parking spaces for a reason.
Treat employees with the same response that you expect from them, regardless of position
Informal direct communication and relationships are critical to success
Informal communication and decision making is encouraged.
Problems should be solved in a face-to-face discussion, NOT via email!
If you feel left out of the loop, don't get mad. Figure out how to get into the loop and add value to the process.
Find ways to keep the team informed without slowing the process.
Meetings are necessary, but need to be limited and focused.
Do whatever it takes to achieve the goal
No excuses - just make it happen and make it happen NOW!
Challenge the organization on why it "can't" be done today.
Challenge individuals who are roadblocks, but don't cross the line of basic personal respect.
Speed and flexibility are weapons to success
Gather the best available data, make a decision and go. Keep a close watch on the results and don't be afraid to admit mistakes and change directions.
Processes are critical to running the company, but should not be an impediment to quick decisions and change.
ALL decisions should be based on what is best for the company and shareholders
No "pet projects."
Be prepared to explain how decisions are aligned with the company goals to shareholders, managers, peers and subordinates. Using "senior management" as the answer is an excuse and is unacceptable.
Don't leave issues unresolved or strive for comprise. Drive to find the best answer for the shareholders, accept it and move on.
"Sandbagging" will not be tolerated
Good decisions can only be made with real data.
Data should not be manipulated to manipulate management.
Sandbagging is effectively the same as lying!
Demand Accountability, Responsibility, and Ownership to exceed the goal
If you own something, it cannot be someone else's fault if it did not happen. If you own it, you own the result.
It is your job to find solutions to achieve your goal within the boundary conditions of the company's overall goals. Use your manager to test ideas and make sure your solutions are aligned.
