Introduction.
1.1 what is hospitality and toursim industry?
“Hospitality” comes from france hotel,It was meant to entertain the nobility in the countryside VIP villas, It is in southeast asia;hongkong;macao known as the “hotel”, In the chinese mainland called ”restaurant” ”guesthouse” ”hostels”
Today,the denfinition of the hotel is varied,having an international standard hotel,First of all,have a comefortable and safe attractive to guests staying in the rooms,there are all kinds having to provide regional cuisine restaurant,conference hall as well as business,trade negotiations required modern conference equipment and office communication systems.swimming pool;GYM;shopping; Gift shops,and services,such as banks,post offices,bookstores,greenhouse,beauty salon etc.At the same time,we have a good quality staff,to provide customers with first -class level of service.today hotel international is called”tourism industry”.
So hotel should have the following conditions:
<1>A perfectly well-known and equipment by the government standard building.
<2>provide accommodation,catering and entertainment service.
<3>profit,asking for reasonable profit
Tourism industry,by virtue of tourism resources and equipment,specialized or mainly engaged in entertainment,provide transportation,sightseeing,accommodation,dining, shopping,entertainment and other six integrated industry,tourism businesses have three parts components:toursim,transport industry and hotel and lodging industry,bu represented.
Within the toursim industry is resourece,tourist facillities as a condition of providing services to toursim and tour industry.
Meaning the definition of toursim is two divided:need for research,practical needs.[1]
1.2 what is singapore tourism industry?
Singapore is the world’s torist destination due to its diverse cultures, traditions and hospitality of one of the most sought after. Tourism in Singapore is a major contributor to the economy and industry, attracted 11,638,663 visitors in 2010, the total population is more than twice Singapore. Tourism revenue(TR) 2011 annual emission at US $22.3 billion registered 18% year on year growth. Tourism revenue(TR) in the first quarter 2012 conducted for the estimated US $5.8 billion registered an 8% increase over the same period last year.
Asia in 2011, remains a strong tourist market, to promote the total international visitor arrivals of 76%. IVA for the first quarter of 2012 remained at nearly 3.6 million, repesenting 15% growth over last year.
