The Choice of Being a Stay-Home Parent

Many young parents are given the opportunity of either being considered a stay-home parent or having a steady career. They can choose to live an easy laid back life with their children or to work hard for the children's future. There is a cost of choosing to be a stay-home parent that is just too high; the option of staying home is not a chance that should be taken. The choice of staying home with the children or working for a family paycheck determines the children's future and the family's overall relationship.

In order for a middle-class family to entirely enjoy life and live it to its fullest, both of the parents need to work. If one parent stays home to watch the children, there is only one paycheck to support the family. When the children grow up to go to go to college, they need to have some cash already stored away. By having this money, the children will not be in debt and have many loans. They would be able to be successful and use their money for a house and other needed items. Housing problems has become a family problem. The price of houses in safe neighborhoods has dramatically risen. Money is obligatory in order to live a secured and pleasurable life.

By always working hard, these parents are teaching their children valuable lessons about life. They are showing them the massive amount of unconditional love that they have for them. They would do anything for them. Anything is possible as long you have the determination and fortitude to accomplish the tasks. In this case the parent's only objective to raise their children and turn them into responsible, respectful, mature adults. As the children mature over the years, they realize the love the parents had for them. From this recognition, the relationship between the parents and the children tightens and becomes special.

These hard working parents are always exhausted. They not only lose many hours of sleep but also their own personal days off of work. They work hard all day for the paycheck and then come home to do more house work. They must do the laundry, make dinner, and clean up after their children. These committed parents do not use their personal days for themselves. When they have the flu and wish to stay in bed, they must get up and go to work. They do this so that when the children are sick, they can stay home and care for them. A parent's children are their world to them. They live for them and would do anything for them. All they want in return is their success and love.

All the parents' hardships are for the children. These are all risks that a committed parent must take. Every one can keep both their job and their family, as long as they know which one takes priority when fever strikes.
