The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari
At the first glance on the movie of "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari," I judged it as a very boring movie. It was very unusual for me to watch that kind of movie. To describe the movie would be very challenging. First the visual effect of the movie is far different from the present movies we have. The movies do not have a clear picture of the scenes. The characters have to put black make- up around their eyes in order for them to be seen on the camera. The picture was completely black and white. I also notice that there were only four top five scenes or places where they shoot the scenes. Compared the other movie I have watched, "Citizen Kane" there were several places where the scenes were taken. In a way it is such a waste because the actors were not clearly visible at the movi, no visual effects, no sound effects, no audio or dialogue. It is hard for the audience when there is no sound or dialogue especially when the story is hard to understand.
At the end of the movie that the boring part was only the first few seconds of watching. If this movie is shown to children for sure they will not understand the story and get bored easily. But after watching the movie I could say that I like it despite of its technical deficiency. It made me think and curious on the story of the movie.
