Fulfilling the Beauty of Nature

Today society is very different and modernistic compared to many years ago. People today don’t usually go out as much and explore the environment. People aren’t as physical and open minded when it comes to nature, they are too involved in staying at home being on their electronic devices, which is sometimes okay. But, it seems like society isn’t very appreciative with nature and Nature Valley granola bar’s commercial is sending a message to enjoy as well as take advantage of what our world is made of. People can overly enjoy nature even if they can’t see the beauty behind it. The Nature Valley commercial is demonstrating how people can discover something different all the time when exploring nature. Famous blind adventurer Erik Weihenmayer is featured to send a positive message to show people who don’t have vision that they can still find a way to see nature because it will somewhat fill their energy in their hearts. People can learn to see and experience nature by listening, feeling, and touching the outside world.

In the commercial of Nature Valley the main focus is Erik Weihenmayer exploring and appreciating nature. Erik is an American athlete, adventurer, author, activist and motivational speaker. He is also blind and has accomplished a lot of amazing goals in his life. He is the only blind person to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Weihenmayer is a big enthusiastic of the outside world which is surprising to a lot of people since he can’t physically see. It’s quite astonishing because there is many people who haven’t achieved as much as Erik has and that’s why he’s part of the commercial, to inspire people. Using Erik in the commercial is showing a rhetorical appeal to get in people’s emotions. The audience will feel some sort of shocked but appreciation for Erik because he’s blind. As sad as it sounds, there is people who always feel bad for blind and deaf people because their world is so different to others who have it all. Nature Valley took advantage of using pathos in their commercial by using an emotional song, an inspiring blind man, and implied meanings behind the scenery of the environment. In the commercial, Erik is enjoying his adventure with his daughter. He is happy as he feels the air, touches the trees, and walks through the rivers. Erik is learning how to see nature with a different set of eyes. He hears all the sounds the wind makes including all the birds and sets of animals. He feels a very exciting and relaxing sensation as he goes through the trees. He is filled with joy as he is outdoors and is trying to convince the audience that they can feel this energy if they do too.

In the commercial the music and the scenery brought out a lot of emotion. The landscape of it as well illustrated the way the audience will react. The music in the commercial was very dim and beautiful as the piano was playing
