The advantages and disadvantages of Chinese Animation Marketing

As the Internet and digital technique evolves, animation marketing is becoming the golden industry after the IT industry. The annual output value of animation marketing in China is up to approximately 50 billion which is a considerable profit for a low pollution and energy consumption industry. What is more important is that it will lead many correlation industries to develop rapidly, and it produces profound effects on: production, study, research, education, network, culture, manufacturing, trade and business.

Chinese animation has been growing with the significance support from the Chinese government. The entire endeavor benefits Chinese animation industry which has made substantial progress in the recent years. However, there are still many disadvantages in Chinese animation industry.

This essay is going to discuss the advantages and disadvantages in Chinese animation industry in three aspects each.

The advantages in Chinese animation industry are various.

First of all, the large population in China means a big share of the animation market. China is one of soring countries of animation industry all over the word. The large population, which is almost over 1.3 billion people, enables China a big share of customers. That is to say the Chinese animation customers are in excess of 500 million. During 2005 to 2007, box office profits in China have increased 20% which means Chinese motion picture distributors gained over 2 billion RMB in annual worldwide income. The total amount of income of the mainland box office was in excess of 3.3 billion RMB, and analysts predicted that this figure will reach up to 10 billion RMB per year by the year of 2013. The constitution of animation viewer are: 11% of them are less than 13 years old, 59% of them are between 14 to 17 years old, and 30% are more than 18 years old. The population of children in China is outnumbering the whole population in USA and Chinese animation audiences spend nearly 18 billion RMB are purchased by the Chinese animation audiences every year.

The second advantage in Chinese animation marketing is that the government makes a significant contribution to its emerging industries which include animation production. The eleventh five-year plan declare that develop Chinese animation industry is a crucial mission; enhance the quality and numbers of the domestic animation. With the purpose of developing Chinese animation, on one hand, Chinese government is trying to increase the broadcasting time of Chinese domestic animations; on the other hand, the government limits the time for foreign animations, in order to reduce competition. The government encourages the local TV stations to open an animation column, broadcast excellent domestic cartoons during the prime-time, and constructs animation broadcast platform completely. Chinese companies are all profit from the commercial foundations of the Chinese government. The Chinese government has investigated many foundations to support its own animation industry. In fact, the endeavor that Chinese government has made is not just about money, that also including restrict many of the foreign animation in Chinese TV programs to provide more opportunities for the domestic animation.

Thirdly, Chinese animation benefits from its rich culture and history. The content of animation is so important that culture becomes a crucial part of the animation industry. Take the Japanese animation industry as an example, Japan is a country of lavish history and the Japanese people are very proud of their culture that makes them willing to display their culture and history in their animation. Abundant history materials plus some exciting imagination can make a successful animation possible and the Chinese animation industry is equipped with the same advantages as well. Vice versa, if a country's history was propagandized through all kinds of animation, its culture would be accepted wildly all over the world and because of the acceptance of culture, and the animation of this country would improve much further.
