Q. 1
Technology refers the application of science to practical means with the aim of transforming the world. Technology involves application of knowledge in design and production of goods and services. These products seek to ease human activities by solving problems. On the other hand, High technology refers to the use of refined scientific equipment and advanced techniques in electronics and engineering fields. High technology is evident in the invention of new electronic gadgets, and design of modern equipment for agricultural and construction purposes (Green, 2000). Ordinary and high technology have transformed business practices, processes leading to high productivity, increased income and more employment opportunities.
A can opener, a fax machine, radio, an unmanned air vehicle are examples of application areas of ordinary technology. These devices perform fundamental processes that enable business, and science to proceed efficiently. On the other hand, an electric can opener, a 3D printer, a nuclear submarine, satellite radio, and a 3D TV are examples of the use of high technology. Engineers have used various products, materials and a blend of nuclear and computer technology in the invention of these products. The high-tech products contribute to wealth accumulation and growth of productivity.
Q. 2
In 1915, the technological methods were very crude. The government focused on the development of agriculture, national resources, and military hardware. The government started an aviation development program and military technology in order to develop aerospace and aviation industry (Green, 2000). Filmmaking industry was a combination of imperfect technologies. Video clips were limited to a small window on the screen with a very short run time. In 1915, people used earlier forms of communication such as the telegraph. During the outbreak of World War I, medical care lagged for those injured during the war.
Mass produced weapons saturated the battle. Individuals developed medical technology in response to the casualties of the explosive bullets. There was X-ray imaging and wound dressing near battlefields. There were instances of intensified land use and new work relationships. These technological improvements in the transport and communications sector and subsequent increase in population contributed to the growth of the economy (Green, 2000). However, since people intensified urban land use, there were conflicts that traditional tools could not handle.
On the other hand, technological advancements in 2015 are rapid and consistent. A wide range of businesses enjoys global opportunities as a result of fast technological change and deeper global engagement. There is a high demand for skills that are consistent with the technological change. There are modern superhighways and electric trains that the transportation network. Communication has improved with the use of communication tools such electronic mail, mobile phones, and video conferencing. In addition, there are social networking applications such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. These tools have simplified communication between people and businesses. People can send, receive and respond to information immediately.
Companies use technology to improve the quality and performance of goods and services. These advancements make products desirable for consumers. Companies use technology to automate processes. Automation reduces cost of hiring manual labor and increases precision in mass production. Use of machines in various processes is more accurate and saves time that would have been spent by an individual to accomplish the task.
Computers have enabled medical discoveries to occur at a rapid rate and intense educational research in the medical field. Technological gadgets improve efficiency and accuracy in medical surgeries with less invasive procedures.
Q.3
Individuals contain ideas that aliens visited earth, left traces and that life on earth started from alien substances. There are many discoveries about other planets that bear similar characteristics as planet earth. Thus, there might be another planet that host life just like the earth (Meyer, 2006). Most people believe that aliens visit the earth to monitor the behavior of humanity. Christians believe that these beings are angels and demons. There are drawings, paintings, and records of ancient times that are old representation of individuals who lived even before our ancestors. There are questions of possible biology, evolution, and the existence of aliens. Researchers claim that aliens communicate in a different way. As a result, contact with these beings is involving.
However, the claim, which aliens have not come to earth exerts no influence. The idea makes no difference on the discrimination needed to propose that aliens have visited earth. Ancient alien theorists suggest that beings with superior knowledge of science came to earth thousands of years ago (Sudalaimuthu & Raj, 2009). These beings shared their expertise with early civilizations that changed the human history. But researchers still look for evidence to support this claim.
Q. 4
The use of cloud-based services in the business industry is a growing trend in the advancement of computational and analytic techniques. The benefits of cloud computing technology are tremendous. However, individuals should prepare for their impact. This technology can change the game of business because it forces competition in a previously dominated marketplace (Sudalaimuthu & Raj, 2009). Most organizations acquire telecommunication innovations with intensive and high fix costs. The concept of IT services combines hardware, software and on-demand computer resources over a network. Individuals can access servers, storage, databases and a set of applications over the internet. This model enables application software to run and store related data in computer systems. Customers can access the data systems through the internet.
