Survey Paper

Worldwide surveys are conducted to get general information about a city, town, state, or country. Survey's can be found online or conducted in person the information the surveyor is researching for a store location, housing, and education. Using CIA Global Demographic information an individual can conduct a survey by asking simple questions. The online survey will ask demographic questions to categorize respondents living in the United States. This information will enable the surveyor to cross tabulate and compare subcategories. The survey will analyze how advertising affects different age demographics when purchases of cell phones in the United States.

The survey will look into advertising, which has an effect on what type of phone a customer buys. The survey will poll if the advertisements have an effect on an average consumer who is in the market to purchase a cell phone. Questions asked are appropriate for the research because the survey is only after information about if cell phone purchases and data usage are influenced. The surveyor will have an insight of which cell phone ads attract certain age groups whether the phone is price or brand name. If the public votes on a brand name the conclusion drawn will show that advertisements do have an effect on types of cell phones the public is purchasing. The survey questions do not pry into people's personal lives but the lives of the respondents of the survey where demographics can be used. No reference to economic struggle will be asked in this survey only factor of price and brand.

To keep from crossing gray areas in this survey, the surveyor will not cross into ethical conflict by keeping the identity of the respondents confidential and not ask for names. The survey will be conducted online through a website. This will allow data to be placed in a quantitative form for further evaluation. Data can be viewed by cell phone providers to maximize sales and push more advertisements in different demographic areas. Data scales provide a way to correlate data and find links and deviations with the results of the survey, which qualitative data cannot provide. The survey will be designed to be simple, fast, and error free.

The purpose of the survey will provide a general understanding of how advertisements affect different age demographics when purchasing a cell phone. An example of the survey follows:

5- Strongly Agree, 4-Agree, 3-Neutral, 2-Disagree, 1- Strongly Disagree.

* I notice cell phone advertisements on TV?
