It’s essential to be agile as an organizational. This issue of agility is critical as to be more and more agile that is faster market with new products and services and sell more of their products to existing customers as well as new customers. It is necessary to have an excellent platform with reliable services, good governance of information technology and good relationships between the business and IT crew. When that is in place, agility becomes easier and at lower costs.
The biggest challenge is to set the service piece on place. A company is hierarchical, it is recommended to put the service piece in place first. If this is not being applied, the rest collapses, as there is no foundation on which to have governance or relationships on new project delivery.
A foundation of execution is hard-wiring the core processes into technology. In addition, it is a set of services that are delivered as IT services. After that the ability to deliver the current services to customers gets better, there is less expenses over time and less attention, because it is not a problem area anymore and therefore attention can then be focused on to what is new and what are growth areas.
Outsourcing is fundamental in IT business. Firms who outsource more do have a lot of lower costs, but less agility. To reduce costs and still be agile, companies need to make their core services mature and they do not give up their architectural control in processes. However, it is possible to outsource but it is recommended to keep this is in mind and outsource carefully.
Companies need to align IT and business through architecture. When the modular architecture of a company’s process increases, a better foundation liberate to execute various type of services. Furthermore, companies should pay attention on improving business skills of their employees, which can be done through investing in education within the organization.
