Students of Public Administration tend to wonder what job they will have when they graduate. As major students of Local Governance, they will study different subjects relating to different important fields of Local Government Unit. With several major subjects, they will have many choices on what job they will choose. They can choose to become a Planning and Development Officer, a Human Resource Department Officer or an Elected Official.

A Planning and Development Officer serves as an advisory committee for the Legislative Branch for programs, projects, and policies on development interventions or solutions. The officer also coordinates with the Executive Branch in formulating new plans and projects. In addition, it is also their task to develop and conceptualize new plans and programs for the L.G.U. and monitors its effectiveness.

As a Human Resource Department officer, the officer's main task is on the management and development of the employees in an organization. The officer is also tasked to attract and select the applicant for a certain position in a government office. The officer should also monitor and improve efficiency of a government employee through providing for seminars and/or training. Furthermore, it is also the officer's responsibility to assess and reward the employees.

Lastly, a Public Administration graduate can become an elected official in a public office. It can be on the Executive or Legislative Branch. The Executive branch includes the Governor's, Mayor's, and Punong Barangay's. Their main responsibilities are to carry out or implement laws and manage a government office. With the Legislative branch, it consists of the Board Member's, Vice-Governor's, Vice-Mayor's, Punong Barangay's, and Barangay Kagawad's. Their main responsibility is the crafting of ordinances and resolutions for the L.G.U.'s development and attainment of vision.

Planning and Development Officer, Human Resource Department Officer, and an Elected Official are only few of the many job opportunities for a Public Administration graduate. However, it will depend on the mastery of a skill and knowledge that people have as to what career they will choose or job them will apply for.
